Some slots make us watch the reels. This one made us watch the Crystal Ball symbols. 

A few spins into Fire Blaze: Blue Wizard, we realised that most of the anticipation was coming from those glowing bonus symbols rather than the standard line wins. Every time a handful landed, we immediately started counting positions and wondering whether enough would appear to trigger the Fire Blaze feature. That became the pattern throughout most of our session. 

Playtech has combined its long-running Blue Wizard theme with the Fire Blaze mechanics that have appeared in several popular releases over the years. The result is a game that feels familiar on the surface, with a traditional reel layout and straightforward paylines, but there is always the possibility that a spin will suddenly turn into a sequence of locked symbols, prizes, or multiplier-enhanced wins. 

For players who enjoy online slots that revolve around collection mechanics and prize opportunities, there is plenty happening here beyond the standard paytable. 

The theme leans more towards fantasy and enchanted objects, with the reels lit by a full moon which gives it a magical feel. 

Rather than building an elaborate fantasy story, Playtech focuses on a straightforward wizard theme. The Blue Wizard appears as the Wild symbol, while the remaining premium symbols are made up of magical artefacts and enchanted objects. We actually liked how restrained the presentation feels. Some modern slots constantly throw animations at the player, but here the reels remain easy to follow even when several bonus symbols appear together. The Crystal Balls are particularly effective because they instantly draw attention and often signal that something more interesting might be about to happen.

The Wild symbol substitutes for all regular symbols except the Scatter and Crystal Ball symbols. During Bonus Spins, Wilds appearing on reel 3 can carry multipliers. 

Fire Blaze Respins 

We spent most of our time hoping to see enough Crystal Balls for the Fire Blaze Respins feature. The feature begins when between 6 and 15 Crystal Ball symbols land during the same spin. Those symbols remain locked in place while the empty positions respin independently. Every additional Crystal Ball gives the feature a bit more life by resetting the respin counter back to 3. 

The locked symbols can contain cash prizes or Star icons. Cash values are collected once the feature ends, while Star icons can reveal Mini, Minor, or Major prizes. Sometimes the reels gradually fill with symbols, while other rounds end much sooner when the extra Crystal Balls stop arriving. 

Fire Blaze Prizes 

Four Fire Blaze prizes are available throughout the game with the following values. 

• Mini: 20x total bet. 
• Minor: 100x total bet. 
• Major: 500x total bet. 
• Grand: 2,000x total bet. 

The Grand prize is awarded if all 15 reel positions become filled with Crystal Ball symbols during the Fire Blaze Respins feature. 

Crystal Ball Symbols 

Crystal Ball symbols act as bonus symbols and can appear on all reels. 

During the base game they can display values of 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, or 50x the total bet. 

During Bonus Spins, Crystal Balls appearing on the middle reel can display values of 5x, 10x, 15x, or 50x the total bet. 

Bonus Spins 

Three or more Scatter symbols trigger 6 Bonus Spins. 

During the feature, every Wild symbol landing on reel 3 receives a multiplier. Possible multiplier values are 2x, 4x, 8x, or 16x. 

Any winning combination that includes a multiplier Wild pays the normal win multiplied by the attached value. Bonus Spins can also be retriggered if additional Scatter symbols appear during the feature. 

The game uses a standard 5x3 layout with 30 fixed paylines, and wins are formed by matching symbols from the leftmost reel onwards. 

What stood out to us was how quickly the focus shifts away from ordinary line wins. A few Crystal Ball symbols are often enough to make us forget about the rest of the reels because they are tied to the Fire Blaze features and some of the more interesting moments in the game. This means even fairly quiet spins can suddenly become much more important if the right symbols start landing. The Bonus Spins round also adds another layer through reel 3 multiplier Wilds, which can increase otherwise modest line wins. 

• Fire Blaze: Red Wizard uses the same Fire Blaze respin system but introduces its own wizard theme and feature presentation. 
• Fire Blaze: Green Wizard follows a similar structure with prizes, locked symbols, and magical visuals centred around a different wizard character. 
• Blue Wizard Cash Collect & Link also focuses heavily on collecting symbol values and triggering feature sequences built around magical bonus symbols. 

What we liked most about Fire Blaze: Blue Wizard is that it stays focused on a handful of mechanics and develops them well. The gameplay rarely feels cluttered, and it does not take long to understand where the bigger opportunities come from. 

During our session, the Fire Blaze Respins feature produced the most anticipation because every new Crystal Ball keeps the feature alive a little longer. Bonus Spins create a different kind of excitement through the multiplier Wilds, giving the two features their own distinct role within the game. 

Visually, Playtech keeps everything straightforward. The fantasy theme is easy to follow, the symbols are clear, and nothing distracts from the features that drive the gameplay.
