When we first loaded Fire Blaze: Red Wizard, we expected the wizard theme to be the main talking point, but within a few spins, the Flaming Ball symbols had completely taken over our attention. Every time a couple landed, we immediately started watching the remaining reels to see whether more would follow. 

That is really what drives the game. The regular wins are there, but much of the anticipation comes from the possibility of triggering the Fire Blaze feature and filling the reels with locked symbols carrying cash values and jackpot prizes. Playtech has used this formula before, like other online slots, although the addition of multiplier Wilds during Bonus Spins gives this version its own personality. 

Instead of building the game around battles or mythical creatures, Playtech focuses on a wandering wizard and his woodland home. Most of the game centres on magical items and enchanted surroundings, giving the reels a fantasy feel. 

The Red Wizard acts as the Wild symbol and naturally takes centre stage. We found ourselves paying attention to his symbol more than any other because of how often it became involved in the game's bigger feature moments. 

Alongside him are ravens, spell books, rings, potions, and the familiar card symbols. We found the premium symbols particularly easy to identify, which is useful because some feature rounds can become fairly busy once several special symbols land together. 

The Flaming Ball symbols immediately stand out whenever they appear, and the Fire Blaze feature does a good job of highlighting collected values without turning the screen into a blur of effects.

The Red Wizard acts as the Wild symbol and can replace most regular symbols when forming winning combinations. The only exceptions are the Scatter and Flaming Ball symbols. 

Flaming Ball symbols carry cash values ranging from 1x to 50x the total bet. They also play a central role in the Fire Blaze feature, where collecting enough of them can lead to locked prizes, respins, and jackpot rewards. 

Bonus Spins 

The Bonus Spins feature starts with 6, 8, or 10 spins depending on the number of Scatters that triggered it. During the round, Wild symbols on the middle reel gain multipliers of up to 16x, giving some wins a noticeable boost. 

The Flaming Ball symbols on reel 3 have the potential to display enhanced cash values throughout the feature. 

Fire Blaze Respins 

The Fire Blaze feature is activated by landing multiple Flaming Ball symbols during the same spin. Once triggered, all Flaming Ball symbols lock into position and 3 respins are awarded. 

Whenever a new Flaming Ball symbol lands, it becomes locked and the respin counter resets back to 3. 

Flaming Ball symbols can contain cash prizes ranging from 1x to 50x the total bet, while special Star symbols award one of the available jackpots. The feature continues until no new symbols land or every position on the reels has been filled. 

Filling all 20 positions awards the Grand Jackpot automatically. 

Jackpot Prizes 

Four fixed jackpots can be collected during the Fire Blaze Respins feature: 

• Mini Jackpot: 20x total bet 
• Minor Jackpot: 100x total bet 
• Major Jackpot: 500x total bet 
• Grand Jackpot: 2,000x total bet 

The underlying mechanics are straightforward. Fire Blaze: Red Wizard uses five reels and 50 fixed paylines, with winning combinations formed from left to right across adjacent reels. 

After a while, though, we spent less time thinking about paylines and more time watching for special symbols. Wilds appear on reels 2 through 5 and help complete standard wins, but they become much more valuable during Bonus Spins once multipliers come into play. 

The Fire Blaze feature changes the focus entirely. Instead of looking for matching symbols, the objective becomes collecting additional Flaming Ball symbols and keeping the respins alive.  

• Fire Blaze: Blue Wizard Megaways combines the Fire Blaze collection feature with changing reel heights and Megaways mechanics. 
• Fire Blaze: Green Wizard focuses on the same jackpot-driven Fire Blaze feature while using a different wizard-themed setting.

Fire Blaze: Red Wizard knows exactly what it wants players to pay attention to. The paylines do their job, but most of the excitement comes from waiting to see whether enough Flaming Ball symbols appear to trigger the respin feature. 

The Fire Blaze feature ended up being the part we paid most attention to. The Bonus Spins round produced some of our better wins thanks to the multiplier Wilds, but we still found ourselves looking forward to the respin feature more often. Watching new symbols land and reset the counter created far more anticipation than the regular spins. 

The presentation is fairly straightforward as well. Playtech keeps the focus on the reels and features rather than overwhelming the screen with effects, which makes the game easy to follow even during the busier moments.
