Gold Roulette Game Review

Gold Roulette by Wazdan takes the familiar European roulette setup and puts it inside a digital casino table framed with wood, gold and deep blue surfaces. We get the usual single-zero wheel and a full betting grid, but there are a few extra options sitting around the standard game, including racetrack bets and a Gamble feature after a win.

It doesn't try to turn roulette into something completely different. The main round still revolves around choosing our bets and spinning the wheel, while the extra controls give us several ways to adjust how we play. Among online live games, Gold Roulette takes a different approach with a fully digital version of European roulette and no live dealer.

Theme & Graphic

Gold Roulette has the appearance of a physical roulette table viewed from above. The wheel sits in the centre of a large wooden surround, with a dark blue playing surface filling the rest of the screen. Gold sections inside the wheel reinforce the game's name, while stacks of red, blue and yellow chips are arranged on both sides.

There isn't a studio or presenter involved. Most of our attention stays on the wheel and betting layout, and the camera moves closer to the ball once the wheel has been set in motion. A small window then zooms in on the numbered pockets as the ball slows down, making the final result much easier to see.

The betting screen follows the familiar roulette layout with numbers 0 to 36. Chip denominations sit vertically along the right-hand side, while recent winning numbers appear across the top under History. The presentation is fairly restrained, which suits a game built around traditional roulette rather than elaborate visual sequences.

Payout Table

Gold Roulette uses the usual range of inside and outside European roulette bets. The figures below show the total return, including the original stake.

Bet Type Payout
Black / Red 2:1
1–18 / 19–36 2:1
Odd / Even 2:1
Dozens 3:1
Horizontal Columns 3:1
6 Numbers 6:1
4 Numbers 9:1
3 Numbers 12:1
Split 18:1
Single Number 36:1

The wheel contains 37 pockets: numbers 1 to 36 are divided between red and black, while 0 is green. The maximum return is 36x the stake, matching the total return from a winning single-number wager.

Game Features

Gamble Feature

A winning round can lead into Gold Roulette's Gamble feature. Instead of collecting immediately, we can risk the current win on a red or black card prediction.

The screen shows a playing card and gives us two choices: Red or Black. A correct colour prediction doubles the amount being gambled, while an incorrect prediction loses it. We can also take the current amount instead of continuing, and a successful gamble can be repeated up to seven consecutive times.

Racetrack Bets

The Racetrack button changes the upper part of the betting area to a wheel-shaped layout. From here, we can place sector and neighbouring-number wagers without selecting every number separately on the main grid.

There is also a Racetrack Range control with minus and plus buttons, letting us alter the range of neighbouring numbers included in the wager.

History

Recent results remain visible above the table. The numbered history strip gives us a quick record of previous outcomes without taking us away from the betting screen.

Game Speed and Repeat Controls

Gold Roulette includes Normal, Fast and Ultra Fast play settings, giving us control over how quickly each round moves. A Last Bet option repeats the previous wager without rebuilding it manually.

Game Mechanics

Each round starts at the betting table. We choose a chip value and place it directly on a number, between numbers for a split, or across one of the larger outside sections such as red, black, odd, even, dozens or columns.

Once the bets are ready, the wheel can be started using the spin control. The view then moves towards the roulette wheel, with the ball travelling around the outer edge before dropping into one of the 37 numbered pockets. The result is recorded in the History bar before the next round begins.

The Racetrack gives us another route for placing wagers around groups of neighbouring wheel numbers. After a win, the Gamble screen can appear if we choose to use it, so collecting the result isn't necessarily the final action of the round.

Smoothspin's Opinion

Gold Roulette keeps most of our attention on the table itself. Once we're playing, most of the interaction comes from choosing chips, placing wagers and watching the roulette wheel animation.

The Gamble feature gives the game its most unusual extra step. Having the option to risk a completed win on red or black changes what happens after a successful roulette result, and the ability to repeat that decision up to seven times makes it more substantial than a simple visual extra. The Racetrack is useful too, particularly when we want to select groups of neighbouring wheel numbers without working through them individually.

The interface has a fairly traditional style, with the wood surround, gold wheel and chip stacks doing most of the decorative work. Everything important remains visible from the main screen, so we aren't moving through several menus just to place a wager.
