King Kong Splash by Blueprint Gaming takes a fairly unusual route for a jungle-themed slot. Instead of putting everything into one bonus feature and leaving the rest of the game fairly simple, it gradually unlocks new mechanics the longer we play. The result feels more like building towards something than waiting for a lucky trigger. Cash prize symbols, collect mechanics, random modifiers, and two separate bonus rounds all feed into a progression trail that stays active throughout the session. With a top prize of 10,000x the stake and plenty happening between bonus rounds, there is usually something worth paying attention to on the reels. 

The game doesn't take itself too seriously. King Kong appears dressed as a fisherman rather than a fearsome jungle beast, and the rest of the symbols follow the same playful approach. Tigers, rhinos, crocodiles, parrots, sharks, and fish all appear across a bright tropical setting surrounded by a jungle with waterfalls and rocky islands. 

Even once the collect features begin expanding across the reels, it remains easy to see where the important symbols have landed. The fish cash prize symbols stand out immediately, which is useful because they become one of the main focuses of the gameplay. 

There are plenty of animations, but they generally serve a purpose rather than acting as decoration. The progression trail moves forward, collect symbols expand, sharks grow larger, and bonus upgrades activate with clear visual cues. We never felt like the game was hiding important information behind flashy effects, which is not always the case with modern online slots that rely heavily on animated features.

The Wild symbol substitutes for all regular symbols except Bonus Scatter, Collect symbols, Cash Prize symbols, and the Super Shark symbol. Wilds can only appear on reels 2 to 6. 

Kong's Cash Modifiers 

Random modifiers can appear during any spin and help keep the base game from feeling repetitive. Feeding Frenzy adds extra cash prize symbols, Bonus Boost increases the number of Bonus Scatters, Win Boost upgrades symbols to stronger symbols or Wilds, and Wipeout clears the reels before dropping in fresh symbols. 

Collect Feature 

The Collect mechanic sits at the centre of the game. At first, only the standard version is available on reels 1 and 6. Whenever cash prize symbols land alongside a Collect symbol, their values are gathered and awarded immediately. 

As more Collect symbols are accumulated, stronger versions become available and remain unlocked for future use. 

Trail Unlocks 

The progression trail above the reels slowly opens additional mechanics. Expand Collect increases collected values through special boost zones. Cascade Collect clears symbols and creates new opportunities. Colossal Collect introduces a large reel covering the middle section of the layout, while Reel Collect can award additional cash prizes or transform into more advanced collect mechanics. 

Super Shark 

Further along the trail, the Super Shark feature becomes available. Whenever it appears alongside a collect mechanic, the shark grows in value until it is eventually caught and awarded. 

Feature Upgrades 

Bonus Scatter symbols can fill three upgrade banks. The blue bank improves collect features, the red bank awards additional spins, and the green bank increases trail multipliers. More than one upgrade can activate during the same feature. 

Kong Bonus Spins 

Landing three or more Bonus Scatter symbols awards 10 Kong Bonus Spins. Any unlocked trail features remain active during the round, which means the bonus can look very different depending on how much progress has already been made. 

Collect symbols continue awarding cash prize values, while additional Collect symbols can award extra spins together with prize multipliers ranging from x2 up to x10. 

Four Bonus Scatters award an additional 20x stake prize, five award 100x stake, and six award 500x stake before the feature begins. 

Fishin' Mayhem 

After enough progress has been made on the trail, Fishin' Mayhem becomes available as an alternative bonus choice. 

Instead of focusing on regular symbol wins, this feature revolves around a special collect grid where cash prizes, dynamite symbols, and Kong symbols drive most of the action. Kong symbols can award additional spins and improve minimum prize values, while dynamite symbols help expand the collection area. It feels noticeably different from Kong Bonus Spins, which helps keep the bonus section from becoming repetitive. 

King Kong Splash uses a 6x4 reel layout with 4,096 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed by matching symbols from left to right, beginning on the first reel. Only the highest-paying combination on each winning way counts, and all wins are added together. 

What makes the game feel different from many other Blueprint releases is that the progression system never really disappears from the background. Every Collect symbol contributes towards unlocking something further along the trail, so even ordinary spins can feel productive. 

The two bonus features also create different goals during longer sessions. Early on, most of the attention goes towards unlocking new trail stages. Later, the focus shifts towards building stronger bonuses through feature upgrades and enhanced collect mechanics. 

• King Kong Splash Jackpot King keeps the same jungle setting but adds Blueprint's Jackpot King mechanic alongside its collection features. 
• King Kong Cash Go Bananas Jackpot King follows a similar cartoon style and uses cash prizes, trail progression, and jackpot rewards throughout the gameplay. 
• King Kong Cash Even Bigger Bananas Jackpot King expands on the collection mechanics with larger prize opportunities and additional feature progression. 

We ended up enjoying the progression system more than we expected. Many collection-style slots reset everything once a feature finishes, but King Kong Splash constantly feels as though it is moving towards the next unlock, which makes even smaller moments feel more relevant than they otherwise would. There were several occasions where we were more interested in seeing what the next Collect symbol would unlock than the spin itself. Not many games manage to create that feeling consistently. 

Fishin' Mayhem was probably the feature that stood out most for us because it changes the focus away from traditional symbol wins and towards collecting prizes directly from the special grid. Having a choice between two bonus rounds also adds a bit of variety once the feature has been unlocked. 

The theme itself stays light and easy-going, while the mechanics keep things interesting over longer sessions. Players who enjoy collect features, progression systems, and cash prize mechanics should find plenty to explore here.
